Deniz Ezgi Sürek (b.1990, Istanbul) completed her master's degree in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Sabancı University in 2018, following her undergraduate studies in Photography and Video at Yıldız Technical University. Since 2020, she has been working at the Hrant Dink Foundation, where she currently serves as Communications Coordinator.
In the landscapes she creates, a narrative emerges that challenges the notion that everything exists for humanity. Her work questions anthropocentric perspectives, emphasizing that humanity is not at the center of the ecological cycle and that life can be sustained only through interdependence and balance. Her compositions, typically digital collages created from her own photographs, explore themes of cycles, balance, incompleteness, states of construction, hybridity, and transience.
